Services
The local GP services are available to all residents at Pinhay House. Any resident not feeling well or who wishes to see the doctor can either be taken to the surgery or a home visit is arranged. In the event of a sudden problem, we are always able to contact the on-call doctor to visit.
Residents are encouraged to retain their own GP when coming to stay at Pinhay House providing their doctor is happy to visit. We work closely with Community Nurses, Community Psychiatric Nurses and Social Workers from Lyme Regis, Axminster, Seaton, Honiton and Bridport to enable continuity of care, which is so important in the well being of the resident.
Many people worry that once inside a residential care home they will lose all contact with the outside world. Not so ! We work closely with all community agencies and often the nurses will come into Pinhay to provide the necessary care. Our aim is for Care to be continuous from present home to care home for the benefit of the resident.
Our hairdresser visits every week, chiropodist regularly, dentist and optician will also visit when required.
The County Library Service calls regularly to re-stock our library of large print books; there are talking books available for those whose eyesight is not so good.
Once a month, clergy from the Axminster Parish team visit to hold a Communion Service in the Drawing Room. It is always possible to arrange for Ministers of other denominations to visit.
